Meet Our Grant Recipients
Her entire journey has fueled her aspirations to earn the Juris Doctor Degree. She was a first-year law student, a member of The Black Law Student Association, a student- volunteer with the Midwest Innocence Project and will be interning with United States District Judge, Judge Wimes.
Saletha Okkunga is attended the School Leadership Academy to become a school administrator in Sacramento, CA. Growing up, her principals and vice principals tended to be white and male.
"I did not seem myself in those leaders", but she hopes that "students and teachers of color will see me and decide to aim high."
Sandean was a double major in kinesiology and psychology. She wished to join the field of rehabilitative science, specializing in recovery procedures for neurodegenerative illnesses.
She had to secure her own financial stability and had 2 jobs, working part time hours while being a full time student.
Tiffany's dream is to get my Bachelors in cyber security and become a member in the FBI or CIA. It’s a big dream, but she knows she can do it. She wanted to help people that needed it, especially people in danger by being a part of the solution.
